The film centers on celebrated classical pianist, Charlotte, who visits her long-neglected daughter Eva in her home. Wounded by Charlotte’s estrangement and selfishness, Eva gradually reveals her repressed resentment to her. As the evening progresses, their tension culminates to a wave of harsh words and exposure of true feelings that permanently alter their relationship.
